Undergraduate Research Assistant Featured on WXXI Radio Show

Denis Lomakin '20, an undergraduate research assistant in URCS, appeared on WXXI's radio show "Connections" hosted by Evan Dawson and Megan Mack. Along with Lomakin, the panel included professors from RIT and UR. The talk, titled "Did 2001: A Space Odyssey accurately predict the AI of the future?" focused on the filmic portrayal of AI, and what it may be teaching us about ethics and technology. Lomakin has been a research assistant at the ROC HCI Lab for the past eight months. In his research, he has been exploring the ethical and legal implications of developing technologies to recognize deception.
