Tang '12 places 3rd in Virginia Tech Regional Math Contest
Junior Xiaoqing (Sean) Tang, who is majoring in both Computer Science and Mathematics, placed third in this year's 32 Annual Virginia Tech Regional Math Contest by scoring 35 out of a possible 70 points. Full Story,
Sean is no stranger to competitions since he's been at Rochester. For three years he has been on the ACM-ICPC Programming Team, including a trip to the World Finals in Harbin, China last February. He has also competed at the Computer Science Games in Montreal, CA, (in March) and the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition. The 2010 Putnam Competition will be held on Dec. 4th.
